Charles Antetokounmpo, the 54-year old father of Milwaukee Bucks superstar wingman Giannis Antetokounmpo, passed away in September in Milwaukee. By all accounts, Giannis moved his family over to Milwaukee following his jump to the NBA. His parents and younger brothers moved to a foreign land as the young star bloomed into a damn-near household name.
After scoring a career-high 44 points last night in the Bucks 113-110 win over the Portland Trail Blazers, Giannis Antetokounmpo wrote a note on the game ball for his dad.

“This is for daddy,” Antetokounmpo’s message reads. “We got a win tonight and I got 44 points.” Beautiful stuff.
If Giannis keep this up, he will absolutely be in the running for the NBA MVP. He’s an early favorite and if this motivation to perform at the highest level continues, it might not be the last one he wins. Giannis is not your average player, he’s the ‘Greek Freak’ and he knows it.
“Seventy-nine more. This is just the beginning,” he said to reporters following the game.
The Bucks star is averaging 38.3 points through three games, up from 22.9 last year, 16.9 in 2015-16 and 12.7 in 2014-15.
