
In the midst of an unprecedented social justice movement, Rev. Al Sharpton has shared details regarding a march to commemorate the 57th anniversary of the March on Washington. Led in partnership with George Floyd’s family, Sharpton has provided details for the march he first announced in May.

Titled the Get Your Knee Off Our Necks March, the demonstration will take place on August 28, 2020 in Washington, D.C. Sharpton is asking participants to arrive at 7 a.m. in front of the Lincoln Memorial. A pre-program will take place from 8-11 a.m. A formal program will begin at 11 a.m. and participants will march towards the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. memorial at 1 p.m.
Joining Sharpton, the families of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd and Eric Garner will be in attendance. Martin Luther King III and other civil rights leaders will be in attendance as well. The NAACP, National Coalition on Black Civic Participation and National Urban League have also helped in coordinating the march.
