On Saturday, April 22, 2023, Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Ryan Garcia will enter T-Mobile Arena with their unblemished professional records intact. However, at least one fighter, if not, both will leave Sin City with the first loss or draw of their pro career. With the punching power of Davis and the speed of Garcia, this weekend’s main attraction will bring a number of major celebrities out from all sections of Hollywood. Not to be forgotten, this weekend’s main event will also bring out a number of fighters, both past and present.
Leading up to Saturday’s catchweight clash, a few fighters have offered their insight regarding the upcoming showdown. Former unified super lightweight champion Amir Khan, WBC Super Lightweight Champion Regis Prograis and former two-division champion Zab Judah have all picked Davis to win. Meanwhile, undisputed super welterweight champion Jermell Charlo and two-division champion Seniesa Estrada have both told Fight Hype that they believe Garcia will come out on top.
“I’ve got Tank winning,” former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder said last year.
“I say Tank, but I think it’s going to be a good fight,” Tyson told Fight Hub TV shortly after meeting up with fellow heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
“I think Tank [is going to win], but you never know in boxing,” undisputed super middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez told Fight Hype.
No one is completely sure who will come out on top, but the world of boxing will certainly tune in to see who comes out on top. As of April 17, DraftKings Sportsbook currently lists Davis as a slight favorite with -250 odds, but Garcia is a nearby with +190 odds in his favor.
