Phoenix Suns continue to have fantastic promotions for their fans an this new one is no different.
Gerald Green’s story of how he only has 4 whole fingers on his right hand starts here.
From the New York Daily News
Green was in the sixth grade when a freak accident left him with half of his ring finger. Wearing his mother’s class ring, the 2007 NBA Slam Dunk champion tried to jam on a makeshift hoop attached to a doorway. The ring caught on a nail and his finger was ripped to the bone.
Amputation was the only option.
“All you saw was nothing but white bone, like a skeleton,” Green said. “They said my tendons, all my ligaments were ripped out.”
Green was only in 6th grade at that time too by the way. So he’s lived with this for a long time.
Fast forward a while and now we sit in 2015 and the Gerald Green career roller coaster has once again ascended to it’s peak. Green has been a bright spot on the Suns and he’s made highlight play after highlight play this year.
Phoenix Suns are going to pay homage to Green and his hand with this wonderful gesture.

That is a real thing and these foam hands are expected to be on sale soon in the Suns shop. Great move by the Suns.
He’s a former dunk contest champion in 2007, expected to be one of the favorites to make it this year in 2015’s All-Star game festivities and is playing well as an all-around solid player now, it’s been great to seen Green’s progress in the NBA.
