Gerald Green will come to the Miami Heat with a familiarity, for some time he was slamming home alley-oops from Goran Dragic back when they were in Phoenix. Only a few months passed when Green followed Dragic to South Beach.
Its the fastest reunion ever. From Phoenix to Miami, and Gerald Green feels blessed.
“I’m blessed.”
“I just want to be a part of something great,” Green said. “I know the Miami HEAT fans want to be back to where [the team was] at a few years ago and I’m just glad I can be a part of that and hopefully we can take these next steps to get there.”
“I kind of really fed off Goran really. I never had anybody to make me better like that,” Green said in a conference call in early July. “He [Dragic] attacks the teeth of the defense, he puts pressure on the defense and he just does a great job of drawing two [or] three defenders. I mean, in transition that’s where I think he’s really good. He gets the ball coast-to-coast and he’s almost like a one-man fast break.”
Man I cannot wait for the new season to start. The Miami Heat look so rejuvenated with Green and Stoudemire coming in. Bosh will be back, hopefully Tyler Johnson, Winslow and Richardson will do their part.
I’ll say it now I think the Miami Heat are solidly 2nd in the Eastern Conference, but I won’t get carried away just yet.
