This whole week has been all about the Sacramento Kings (unfortunately). And I’ll give you my life savings if you can find a story that shows the Kings organisation in a positive light.
It’s relatively impossible, they’re a dumpster fire right now and the only way this could get better is if DeMarcus Cousins doesn’t leave. But apparently, Kings head coach George Karl wants him gone. Or so we thought. Karl caught up with the Sacramento Bee while he was playing golf and he set everything straight.
“I think it’s just a lot of crazy crazy fibs and lies,” Karl said. “It’s just a situation where we won 29 games last year and for us as a basketball organization we want to get better. Cous is our best player, we know that. We want him committed and dedicated to being in Sacramento and playing and leading us to the first playoffs in Sacramento in six, seven, eight nine years.”
“My interest right now is commitment, trust and building a team that’s excited about being in Sacramento, excited and committed to being a good basketball team and representing the city of Sacramento,” Karl said. […] “If he comes committed, I’m a 120 percent into making him the best basketball player he could ever be.”
Now I’m wondering why George Karl would take this job if he couldn’t take on DeMarcus.
He has relatively improved on his behaviour since a couple years back, but DMC is always going to be DMC. You’re really going to trade a walking 20 & 10 per game because he gets some technicals now and again. I’m 19 and I’m asking Karl to grow up a little. You’re in this now, deal with your franchise player.
