Winning cures a lot of old wounds. Ask the Milwaukee Bucks for confirmation. Although numerous free agents signed elsewhere in free agency, the 2021 NBA champions quietly add a familiar face via the waiver wire. George Hill will sign a 2-year, $8 million deal with the team he played for in 2020. The Philadelphia 76ers decided to waive the veteran point guard leaving him available to sign with his former team.

Last season was one to be forgotten for Hill. Although the 13-year veteran played in the postseason, his performance during the Atlanta Hawks series left a lot on the table. Hill shot 22 percent from the 3-point line and averaged a mere two points per contest. The Philadelphia 76ers had plenty of problems, and Hill was not a solution for the team in the playoffs.
Despite producing such lackluster numbers, the Bucks add Hill to their lineup in response to losing numerous players to free agency. Hill automatically has a shot at cracking the rotation in light of the Bucks’ guard depth. Playing with a player like Giannis Antetokounmpo could certainly help players like Hill.

In 106 games and 2,229 minutes logged for the Bucks, Hill shot a true shooting mark of 60 percent. Regardless of the lackluster last outing from Hill, the familiarity with the Bucks system should bode well for his numbers and the Bucks’ endearing team chemistry. The goal for the Milwaukee Bucks is to get back to the NBA Finals and become back-to-back NBA Champions.
