All is quiet at George Floyd memorial. Dozens remain, sharing their stories. No police in sight. Looks like a good night here in Minneapolis. pic.twitter.com/iBQiQE3qxq

The first memorial service in Minneapolis comes in the wake of Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison upgrading Derek Chauvin‘s charge of murder from a third-degree charge to a second-degree charge. In addition, Ellison arrested and charged the three other officers present at the time of Floyd’s death with aiding and abetting second degree murder and manslaughter.
Floyd’s memorial services will be covered by a number of major networks this afternoon. Those wishing to send flowers and other gifts to the Floyd family can send them to the Fort Bend Memorial Planning Center in Rosharon, Texas.
