George and Amal Clooney have donated more than $1 million toward COVID-19 relief efforts during the ongoing pandemic. Together, the couple donated to the Motion Picture and Television Fund, the SAG-AFTRA Fund and the Los Angeles Mayors Fund. They also donated to international organizations such as the Lebanese Food Bank, Lombardo Italy Region and the NHS.
In addition to donating to the Motion Picture and Television Fund, Clooney serves as a board member. MPTF works to provide support Hollywood professionals in need, as well as elderly industry workers.
Joining the MPTF, SAG-AFTRA offers emergency financial assistance and health insurance to industry professional in needs. During the pandemic, the organization has offered grants to industry professionals in search of financial help with health insurance, food and other medical needs.
As for Amal Clooney, she offers an annual scholarship for Lebanese women. Her contribution to the Lebanese Food Bank will help out those most vulnerable during a pandemic such as orphans, those with disabilities and those unable to work.
