During UFC 319, Geoff Neal and Carlos Prates are expected to meet in a welterweight clash on August 16, 2025, at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Neal, 34, will enter the match with a record of 16-6 (10 KOs). Despite losing four of his last seven, Neal picked up a win in his most recent outing, beating Rafael dos Anjos by TKO last October. Ranked as the 11th welterweight, a win against Prates could bump Neal closer to a title shot.
Prates, 31, holds a record of 21-7 with 16 knockouts. After starting his professional career with a record of 10-6, he racked up 11 consecutive victories, including wins against Li Jingliang and Neil Magny. However, he suffered his first loss since June 2019 when Ian Machado Garry beat him by unanimous decision. Sitting at 13th in the UFC welterweight rankings, an impressive performance against Neal could boost Prates into the top ten and get him back on the right track.
Prates and Neal will meet during UFC 319. The pay-per-view event will feature Khamzat Chimaev challenging Dricus du Plessis for the middleweight title, and Michael Page will remain at middleweight to fight Jared Cannonier.
