ABC has pulled Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes from their on-air duties with Good Morning America until further notice. The network’s decision to pull Robach and Holmes from their on-air duties coincides with rumors of Holmes and Robach engaging in a consensual relationship while working together. Rumors of a consensual relationship between the two were further complicated by additional reports that suggested both anchors had previous workplace affairs while married.
Viewers, journalists and others have wasted no time making jokes, offering commentary and gossiping about the Robach-Holmes story. Most recently, CBS Mornings Co-Host Gayle King offered her thoughts on the matter. As she puts it, the situation has become “very sloppy” and “very messy.”
“I mean, I look at the situation and I do say it’s very interesting what’s happening over there,” King told Andy Cohen.
“It’s just gotten very messy and very sloppy. I do think that. You know, because in the beginning I actually thought…listen, good on Good Morning America. They’re saying that they’re not taking them off the air, two consenting adults. But then the more you read, it’s just very messy.”
King is not the only morning show host to weigh in on the matter. Previously, Don Lemon of CNN offered his thoughts while speaking to Entertainment Tonight.
“I’ll say this. I know T.J., I worked with T.J. at CNN, so I have nothing but love for him and I hope that he’s OK,” Lemon said.
“I don’t know about their situation, I’m not privy enough, but I just like to offer people love and support and I hope that they’re OK and hope that they continue to prosper.”
