So the Denver Nuggets have addressed a need, they got shooting and when they were on the clock, it was clear that Jamal Murray was the logical option. Or was it?
Sure he can get buckets, but he also has good point guard tendencies, he’s got a solid touch and can pass. But how is he going to be a point guard if they already have Emmanuel Mudiay? I have a feeling they’ll just use him as a shooter and not use Murray to his full potential. There was also the case of Gary Harris and if there was a potential battle for the starting 2 spot.
Turns out, there won’t be any battle, Gary Harris will be the starting 2 next to Mudiay.
Despite the fact the Nuggets drafted a combo guard in Jamal Murray and a shooting guard in Malik Beasley, team general manager Tim Connelly was firm in his stance that Gary Harris’ shooting guard spot next season is not in jeopardy.
“It’s Gary’s job,” Connelly said. “Certainly I hope Jamal does everything he does to potentially take the job, but Gary’s our starting two-guard.”
So Harris maybe the main man but you never know, Murray might just strong arm his way to the starting spot. Or maybe Malik Beasley will come out of nowhere and totally boss it?
