Garrett Temple was held out of practice on Thursday after the Wizards 106-93 win over the Philadelphia 76ers due to a lingering hamstring injury that has kept him out since March 9th’s game against the Charlotte Hornets. The only activity Temple was able to complete in the practice was doing some running on court.
Temple has been a productive option for the Wizards when rest or injury kept Bradley Beal out for a game this season. In 18 starts this season, Temple has averaged 7.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. For the Wizards, it’s good to know if Beal or Wall were to go down come playoff time, they have a guy who can step in and make contributions.
In the 52 games Temple has suited up for the Wizards so far this season, he has averages of 3.9 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists, .8 steals, and .2 blocks per game. Temple has been making the most of his opportunities, but they have often been scarce. It’ll be hard to see him getting even more time when he comes back, but having another body is going to be beneficial to the Wizards as they look to make a run in the playoffs.
