Game of Thrones season 8 is right around the corner and HBO is ramping up their marketing. After a series of images showing all the characters on the Iron Throne, the network dropped a massive, full-length trailer showing fans the moments leading up to the highly-anticipated Battle at Winterfell. Many fans assumed we wouldn’t be getting another trailer until the show’s April 14th premiere.
Well, it turns out we were half-right. The latest trailer recycles shots and scenes compiled from other trailers. Except for one key shot. The teaser opens to show Jon Snow visiting the Weirwood tree at Winterfell, something we’d seen in other marketing. But, this time we get a few seconds of the reverse shot, showing Arya walking up behind him.
It’s unclear if this is their actual reunion but it is the first time they’ve appeared on-screen together since season 1. Fans have been not-so-patiently awaiting this reunion for years and, with everything both characters have been through in the last 8 years; it’s likely to be one of the most touching, tear-jerking scenes of the new season.
