The 8th and final season of Game of Thrones is coming in April and HBO is wasting no time finding other ways to engage it’s GoT audience. Last year, a prequel was announced that would follow the mad king and his story and while it was just in the works, it has been fully developed now.
There is no title set for the prequel just yet but George R.R Martin has proclaimed himself that the show will be called ‘The Long Night’. Per Screen Rant the cast includes:
Naomi Ackie (Star Wars Episode IX), Denise Gough (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt), Jamie Campbell Bower (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald), Sheila Atim (Harlots), Ivanno Jeremiah (Black Mirror), Georgie Henley (The Chronicles of Narnia), Alex Sharp (To the Bone) and Toby Regbo (Reign).
Reports first came out that the film was supposed to start filming this month but promotions for the new Game of Thrones season have pushed back plans. The show will take place thousands of years before the events that happened in HBO’s hit show.
While the exact premise of the show hasn’t been ironed out, it will revolve around Naomi who plays a charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret. Jessica Jones director S.J. Clarkson tapped to helm the pilot.
