In 2017, G Herbo released his debut album, Humble Beast, to the excitement of his growing fan base. With records like “Everything” and features from Jeremih and Lil’ Yachty, it appeared that G Herbo had transformed from a newcomer into a veteran. With half of 2018 in the rearview mirror, it appears that 2017 was only the beginning of what G Herbo will accomplish in his career. In 2018, G Herbo has celebrated the success of his “Who Run It” freestyle while earning a partnership with the spirits company, Luc Belaire. As he transitions into the second half of 2018, G Herbo is looking to put his foot on the gas.
The Chicago native is kicking off the second half of 2018 with the release of his collaborative project with producer, Southside. The duo has come together to produce a fourteen track body of work called Swervo. Earlier this year, the duo released singles like “Who Run It”, “Focused”, “Swervo” and “Some Nights”. During the album’s rollout, G Herbo stopped by Hot 97, Everyday Struggle and a few other outlets. On his press run, G Herbo said, “Swervo is my alter-ego. It’s the opposite of G Herbo. I’m not being humble. I’m not really telling you stories or filling you in on my past because you got that already. This is more of me having fun and party records.” G Herbo also added, “Southside is my brother. He wants to see me win. That’s one guy I can genuinely say wants the best for me no matter if he gains from it or not. He doesn’t even have to make a dollar. That’s just something I feel not all artists have.”
The two have definitely developed a bond and chemistry that makes Swervo one of the most anticipated projects of the summer. The full album is here. Stream it above and let us know what you think.
