Furkan Korkmaz is out indefinitely after suffering a Lisfranc fracture of his left foot, the 76ers announced on Sunday. Korkmaz sustained the injury in a G League game on Thursday, as included in the team’s new injury report this weekend:

Also included in the injury report were Sixers’ big men Joel Embiid (back), who will miss at least one game, and Trevor Booker (ankle) who’s set to miss at least two. Markelle Fultz and Justin Anderson remain out, bringing the injury count to five players when including Korkmaz
Lisfranc injuries are common in professional sports. Many athletes have missed roughly six-to-eight weeks due to the injury, and the recovery process is said to vary based on how significant the injury is, as well as how the athlete responds to recovery.
Korkmaz, 20, was selected by Philadelphia with the No. 16 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. He’s bounced back and forth from the 76ers and the team’s G League affiliate, the Delaware 87ers, for most of the season.
Further evaluation and testing is set to come and the Sixers will release an update on his status in the future. Korkmaz, who’s in the first NBA season of his career, has appeared in six games with the club.
