Earlier this year, Disney Animation Chief Creative Officer Jennifer Lee said that she wouldn’t direct the third installment of the animated franchise. However, she did offer a comment that has left many believing that a fourth film could be in the works at Disney.
“Only what we have already shared, which is the team is hard at work, we are deeply excited about the story we are shaping together, and it’s so epic it may not fit into just one film,” Lee said.
Lee’s comments arrive less than two weeks after Disney CEO Bob Iger hinted at the possibility of a fourth film during an interview with Good Morning America.
“Frozen 3 is in the works and there might be a Frozen 4 in the works, too. But, I don’t have much to say about those films right now,” Iger said.
“But Jenn Lee who created Frozen, the original Frozen and Frozen 2, is hard at work with her team at Disney Animation on not one but actually two stories.”
It all but appears to be in the works. In the meantime, fans will just have to wait for more news about the third and fourth chapters of the animated franchise.
