In April, Freeway filled a room in New York City with music industry heads and friends for the debut of a documentary called Think Free. Complete with guest appearances from Lil’ Uzi Vert and Lenny S, the documentary focused on Freeway’s recent battle with kidney disease and the obstacles he faces going forward. When speaking about the documentary, Freeway said, “This documentary is just a glimpse into my life and what I’m going through. Hopefully, it can be motivation for people and encourage y’all to go the doctors and get checked out at least once a year.” Freeway also added, “I was walking around with the risk factors and was unaware of it. If I knew, of course I would have done something to take care of myself and be a little more proactive in my health.”
Today, Freeway has released the accompanying album for the documentary. Think Free is a thirteen project that features legend like Faith Evans, Fat Joe, Jadakiss and Lil’ Wayne. Freeway’s newest body of work also features newer artists like Lil’ Uzi Vert and BJ The Chicago Kid. Think Free is Freeway’s first project two years and his most personal to date.
