Freddy Krueger is bacckk… maybe.
According to EW, New Line is in the early stages of development of a new Nightmare on Elm Street film, hiring David Leslie Johnson (Orphan) to pen an update on the classic horror franchise.
The Nightmare on Elm Street films (the first released in 1984) put New Line on the Hollywood map and gave Robert Englund his iconic slasher role as the child murderer who finds an evil afterlife of turning up in the bad dreams of his victims.
Director Samuel Bayer previously attempted to reboot Wes Craven’s brainchild with a 2010 remake that starred Rooney Mara and featured Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen) as Freddy.
No word yet on who might wear Freddy’s glove this time around but this reboot is sure to be good!
