Freddie Gibbs is proof that some artists get better as they get older. At 38 years old, the best is yet to come for the Gary, Indiana native. Over the last two years, his fan base has only grown with the release of Bandana with Madlib and Alfredo with The Alchemist. Heading into 2021, Freddie Gibbs continues to tease new music. He’s teased new music with Pusha T and a number of joint projects with some of the best producers. More recently, he teased new music with ScHoolboy Q. On Tuesday, Freddie Gibbs posted a screenshot of a text conversation he had with Schoolboy Q.
“Lowkey, I want to be a turtle,” ScHoolboy Q wrote.
“Done deal,” Gibbs replied.
The Gary native then captioned the screenshot with a caption that read, “Drop a [rabbit] or a [turtle] if we should drop on Friday.” As expected, fans lost their minds and began demanding the track drop right there and then. Just a few days later, Freddie Gibbs and ScHoolboy Q delivered. Check out “Gang Signs” below.
