The Chicago Bulls have screwed the pooch on this one. As we know the Bulls organization and Tom Thibodeau are not seeing eye to eye. It is so bad that Thibodeau may not be the head coach of the Bulls next season. Which I find stupid because he’s a top 5 coach in this league.
But anyways with the ties between the Bulls and Thibs pretty much severed. The rumor mill begins to roll into action. The first is ESPN’s Marc Stein who reports that Fred Hoiberg, head coach of Iowa State would be first in line for the Bulls Job.
It is widely — and I mean widely — believed throughout the league that Fred Hoiberg, whose Iowa State Cyclones were bounced in the first round of the tournament Thursday by UAB, is the top choice of the Chicago Bulls to replace Tom Thibodeau in the event that the Bulls and Thibs indeed part company at season’s end.?
Now Hoiberg is a good coach. Pardoning the UAB upset, he is pretty damn good. Watching the Cyclones in the past two years have been very interesting. Now I’d love to see Hoiberg coach in the NBA. But I still don’t agree with letting Thibs walk. He’s too good to just let go because you don’t like him anymore.
