After another disappointing campaign for the Orlando Magic that saw them remain an Eastern Conference bottom feeder with a 29-53 record, the upcoming NBA draft will be monumental for the team’s success going forward. Though they have some solid, young pieces on their roster, they just haven’t meshed like their coaching staff and fans would have liked.
Finishing as the 13th seed in the East, the Magic are expected to land a high lottery pick, potentially picking in the top five. At the upcoming draft lottery which is scheduled to take place on May 16th, Orlando will be represented by first-year head coach Frank Vogel according to ESPN’s Chris Haynes:
Coach Frank Vogel will represent Orlando Magic at NBA Draft Lottery on May 16, league sources tell ESPN. Sr. VP Pat Williams to attend also.

Needing help at nearly every position on the court, there are going to be multiple routes the Magic can opt to take. However, that decision starts with knowing what pick you have, which will be found out in a week from today.
Vogel was a worthy candidate to represent Orlando at the lottery, as the former Indiana Pacers head coach has proven to be one of the better young coaches in the NBA.
With the Magic looking to become relevant in the Eastern Conference again, an ever important offseason will kick off with the draft lottery on May 16th.
