Fans are beginning to become cautiously optimistic about the possibility of receiving new music from Frank Ocean. The multi-talented creative sparked excitement about the possibility of a new project when he revealed he had been “working in Malibu this summer.” Frank Ocean didn’t specify what he had been working on, but he did clarify that he was in the studio.
“Forgive how, like, free associative this might feel. I was working in Malibu this summer and I would go out, like, pretty late from the studio and there’s, like, a big population of coyotes in Malibu,” Frank Ocean told Dr. James Fadiman during a conversation about psychadelics on Blonded Radio.
“And then when I would go outside I would see, like, all these bunnies running around and it reminded me of video games where you’re, like, a wizard or something. And you’re playing this role in this game and you’re running around and you have these little things to pick up and put in the pouch.”
Frank Ocean has been known to stay out of the limelight. He recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of his debut album, Channel Orange. As fans well known, the Louisiana native took quite a bit of time off in between his first and second album. Ultimately, fans were gifted the classic project, Blonde. Since then, Frank Ocean tracks have been hard to come by. He delivered “Chanel” in March 2017 before earning a Jay-Z verse on “Biking” a few months later. More recently, Frank Ocean has been spotted at his night club, attending the Met Gala and launching Homer.
Will a new Frank Ocean project arrive in the near future? Only time will tell.
