The Charlotte Hornets had a decent Draft in my opinion. Before Thursday there was word of Cody Zeller being traded in order to make life in the Draft a little easier. But due to good front office work, they kept their starter in Zeller and dealt Noah Vonleh instead, getting Nicolas Batum in the process. With Vonleh gone, they had the chance to get a big and a shooter. Two birds, one stone.
After the trade, it was very clear as to who they were going to pick. A big man who can shoot. Enter Wisconsin’s Frank Kaminsky. That is all they needed. Well, within reason. Kaminsky will slot into the Hornets very well in my opinion, and I think that Kaminsky likes the destination he’s landed on.
“We knew it was on the radar,” Kaminsky said of Charlotte selecting him. “Like I said, it’s just part of the process and scheduling and match-ups and workouts. It just didn’t work out to where I went down to Charlotte and worked out, but they were definitely on the radar and definitely a team I was interested in.”
He also likes the fact that he gets to play with Cody Zeller. Seems like the Hornets are 2/2 in the “who they traded” front.
“I had an opportunity to play against him for two years, so I know about him and I knew where he started and where he is now,” Kaminsky said of Zeller. “Just looking forward to playing with him. He’s obviously a good player. Like I said, I’m just so excited to get down there and find out what my role will be and try to make the most of it.“
Who knew? It’s a match made in heaven! So I guess I’ll be seeing the Charlotte Hornets in the Playoffs next year?
