In the modern era of pro football, running backs aren’t supposed to last after they turn 30. That means Frank Gore has lasted two NFL lifetimes.
Gore, who turns 37 on May 14, has reportedly agreed to a contract with the New York Jets.
Standout veteran RB Frank Gore is signing a 1-year deal with the Jets, @RosenhausSports tells ESPN. Gore will be reunited with his former coach Adam Gase, with whom he spent the 2018 season.

While Frank Gore isn’t the workhorse he once was, he’s remained remarkably durable and productive over the years.
All things considered, his career is pretty amazing, especially considering the main reason he slipped until the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft due to questions about his health. Specifically, it was believed his knees wouldn’t hold up in the NFL.
Those skeptics have definitely been proven wrong.
Last season, Gore played in Buffalo. He appeared in all 16 regular-season games as well as their 22-19 overtime loss in the wild-round round of the playoffs.
The 2019 season saw Gore put up 599 yards on 166 carries (an average of 3.6 yards) and two touchdowns. He also had 13 receptions for 100 yards.
In 15 seasons, Gore spent his first 10 years in San Francisco with the 49ers, three in Indianapolis, and one apiece with the Dolphins and aforementioned Bills.
For his career, Gore has amassed 15,374 yards on 3,548 carries (4.3 yards per attempt) and 79 rushing touchdowns. He also has 648 receptions, good for 3,806 yards and 18 scores through the air.
