Twentieth Century Fox has acquired the film rights to the popular card game Magic: The Gathering.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio has signed a deal with Hasbro to make a film franchise out of the fantasy game.
X-men producer and writer Simon Kinberg will be heading the project and will work with Hasbro CEO’s to make the film.
Magic started in 1993 by a role playing company, Wizards of the Coast.
The game has grown in popularity over the last 20 years with tournaments being held all over the world.
