Former Super Bowl 48 MVP, Seattle Seahawks linebacker Malcolm Smith, has elected to remain on the West Coast but head down a little further south to California and join the Oakland Raiders.

Malcolm Smith, the 2013 Super Bowl MVP, is moving south to Oakland.
According to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, Smith, 25, is expected to sign with Jack Del Rio and his revamped defense, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
The move will be welcome for both sides considering the fact that the Seahawks defense had no place for the man who helped them secure a Super Bowl berth and victory back in 2013.
A healthy team kind of ruined any chance for Smith to garner any snaps with the Seahawks. Smith played in fewer than 30 percent of the team’s defensive snaps during the regular season and in just 2 snaps in the NFC Championship win over the Green Bay Packers.
Under new Jaguars Head coach Jack Del Rio, Smith will finally get a chance to play true starter’s time like he did during the finality of the 2013 season with his highlight play being the game sealing interception during the NFC Championship game against the San Fransisco 49ers.
Smith will join forces with budding stars Sio Moore and Khalil Mack at the linebacker position.
