Following the midterm elections of 2018, voters have now shifted their attention to the much anticipated 2020 U.S. Presidential Election. After an unpredictable race in 2016, the nation will surely be captivated with a possible reelection bid from Donald Trump. In addition, the Democratic Party will also play a huge role in the upcoming election. Political experts predict that that there could be as many as twelve candidates vying for the party’s nomination. Early nominees include Kamala Harris, Corey Booker, Elizabeth Warren, Joe Biden and Kirsten Gillibrand. Outside candidates include Beto O’Rourke, Andrew Gillum, Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Not to mention, the public has thrown out names like Oprah and Dwayne Johnson. With all of the attention surrounding the Democratic Party’s eventual nominee, one name has continually been pushed to the side.
After appearing to be done with running for public office, a former adviser has indicated that Hilary Clinton is preparing to run for President again. Former adviser, Mark Penn, wrote in a Wall Street Journal Op-Ed that Clinton was preparing a “Hillary 4.0″ campaign for the 2020 election. Penn went on to write that Clinton would not “let a little thing like two stunning defeats stand in the way of her claim to the White House.” He also claimed that Clinton would reinvent herself a “liberal firebrand” in her 2020 campaign.
Clinton has said in the past that she is not interested in running again and has made no public effort to push for a presidential bid as of yet. However, she did say in a recent interview that she’d like to be President of the United States. Only time will tell if Clinton is serious or simply trolling.
