Epix has announced that actor Forest Whitaker will develop a four-part documentary series called By Whatever Means Necessary: The Times of Godfather of Harlem.
Inspired by Epix’s Godfather of Harlem, the documentary will highlight subjects from the original series and tie them to present day topics. The film will combine interview, archival footage and much more from figures like Bumpy Johnson, Malcolm X and others.
Whtaker will executive produce the series alongside Significant Production. Kasseem “Swizz Beatz” Dean and Keith McQuirter will also executive produce the series.
By Whatever Means Necessary: The Times of Godfather of Harlem is in development and will premiere this fall. In addition, Epix will begin production on the second season of Godfather of Harlem in the near future and premiere in 2021.
