Over the past few years, Florida has ushered in a new wave of musicians of all genres. In the world of Rap, Florida has ushered in artists like Denzel Curry, Ski Mask The Slump God, Lil’ Pump, City Girls and Smokepurp. Most notably, the state has brought the world Kodak Black and XXXTentacion. As the movement of new Florida artists moves forward, more artists continue to make their voices heard. Recently, a new artist out of Miami by the name of Flo Kid has been making major noise.
This week, the Florida native dropped a new video for his single, “Regal”. The new single has a beat and vibe that almost makes you feel like you’re in the Sunshine State during the summertime. In addition, the video supports the record’s upbeat vibe as Flo Kid drives through Miami.
The video and song pays tribute to the rapper’s brother who lost his life in 2014 due to gun violence. In the song, Flo Kid raps, “To be real, I didn’t pay for the whip. My brother gave it to me and now I’m thankful as sh*t.” With a heartfelt message and addictive hook, it’s clear why the record is poised to take off in 2019.
