Lebron James may be the best player on the court, but he is solidifying his legacy off of it. James kicked off of his summer activities by announcing that he would be signing with the Los Angeles Lakers and taking on the entertainment capital of the world. Shortly thereafter, James opened up his own school and announced that he would be working with HBO to create his own show, The Shop. This month, James has shown no signs of slowing down. This week, he debuted his series, The Shop, to great reviews. Timothy Bella of The Washington Post wrote, “For James, who has been noted for being media savvy and polished, the show offered a rare, unfiltered glimpse of his belief that there is a double-standard among white and black athletes and how they are perceived in the media.”
Never one to take his foot off the gas, James has returned to release the first trailer for his upcoming series, Shut Up and Dribble. Inspired by comments made by Fox News anchor, Laura Ingraham, the series is set to document the history of the NBA and the growth of its players influence off the court. Set to premiere in October, the series will consist of three parts produced by Maverick Carter and Lebron James and directed by Gotham Chopra. In the first teaser, fans can check out Lebron James and Jemele Hill touching on the recent sociopolitical movements players have touched on. Watch the full fifteen second teaser above and get ready for the series premiere in October.
