The second The Maze Runner movie hasn’t even began production yet, and we already know what to expect for the final film.
According to Digital Spy, The Maze Runner director Wes Ball has stated that the film series wont end like The Hunger Games and Divergent by splitting its final movie into two parts.
Recently, Hollywood has been seen splitting up final movies into two parts, a trend started by the Harry Potter series and the Twilight saga.
Speaking with Digital Spy, Ball said that the trilogy which includes – The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trails and The Death Cure– will only be adapted into three films.
“I think three is the number; beginning, middle, and, that’s it. Four? I think there’s something off about four.
For me, if I have any say in it, there’s three movies basically.
We’re not going to [split a book in two], no way. I think three movies is the right number, Star Wars!”
The Maze Runner is currently in theaters.
