It’s been a monumental year for Paterson native Fetty Wap. After becoming MTV’s “Artist To Watch,” the chart-topping artist was tagged to model for 2020 presidential candidate Kanye West‘s Yeezy collection. The “Trap Queen” crooner joins The Weeknd as the only musicians to don the apparel.
Fetty also dropped this quote for CR Fashion Book about “Trap Queen”:
“Everybody doesn’t have the same trap queen,” he says as he tries to explain his song’s meaning in laymen’s terms. “Everyone can have their own trap queen. There is the way I use it in the song, but my mom is a trap queen. She held us down and she was a queen at doing it. She took care of her children and her tribe, made sure we had food on the table, and kept our heads up. However you want to put it, there are different meanings to it.”
