
Faith Evans is slated to receive a special award on one of music’s biggest nights.
BET officially announced the nominees for the 2018 Soul Train Awards on Thursday afternoon and revealed that 90’s R&B icon Faith Evans, will be honored with the Lady of Soul award. BET stated,
“Faith Evans is more than a multi-Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, and producer, she is also a TV exec, bestselling author and, most important, a mom. Evans started her career more than two decades ago and has accomplished more than most people would in a lifetime.”
In addition, Erykah Badu who hosted the Soul Train Awards last year will also be honored at the awards show and will receive the Legend Award.
As for nominations, “Focus” singer H.E.R., is the leading nominee with a whopping seven nominations. The songstress first made her debut on the R&B music scene back in 2016 with the drop of her EP H.E.R. Vol. 1, and soon after, followed up with a few other projects including H.E.R. Vol. 2 (2017), H.E.R. Vol. 2, The B Sides (2017), and most recently, I Used to Know H.E.R.: The Prelude.

Followed closely behind H.E.R. with multiple nominations are Bruno Mars and Cardi B with six nods. SZA has garnered five, and Ella Mai and Daniel Caeser have each received four.
The 2018 Soul Train Awards will be hosted by actresses Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold, and are set to air on November 25 8 PM E.T. on BET. View the full list of nominees below.
