If you’re a fan of Omari Hardwick‘s Power, you will likely be tuning in this Sunday for the premiere of season five. With Kanan, Tommy and Ghost teaming up to take down Dre, it’s sure to be an amazing season that you will not want to miss. However, one thing could ruin your viewing experience. If you log on to any one of the major social media apps on your phone while the show is live and you’re not watching at the moment, the whole episode could be ruined. If this happens in regards to a Netflix series that releases all of its episodes at once, this issue could be completely exacerbated.
Facebook is attempting to cure any of your major social media spoiler issues. Facebook is currently testing out a thirty day snooze feature that would allow users to snooze certain key words and prevent them from appearing on their timeline. This feature could be extremely helpful for people looking to avoid spoilers, certain political discussions and the like. Slowly, but surely, Facebook will roll out this feature to users over the next few months.
The only limitation to the proposed snooze feature is that it will only last thirty days. Other social media giants like Twitter and Instagram instituted permanent snooze and key work blocking features back in 2015 and 2016 respectively. When asked why they hadn’t instituted a permanent snooze feature, representatives from Facebook stated, “If we’re hearing from people that they want more or less time that might get added as the feature rolls out beyond a test.”
For those who have access to the future currently, it can be used by finding a post that includes the key word you are looking to snooze and then snoozing posts with that word.
