New York Knicks are on the worst roll in the history of the franchise with their 5-22 record. That’s no secret. The New York Knicks though have recently made some not so great headlines.
First, the New York Knicks reportedly had some infighting, including Carmelo Anthony and Tim Hardaway Jr, getting into a scuffle.
Then, there were reports that All-Star forward, Carmelo Anthony, was willing to waive his no-trade clause and be able to get traded anywhere he wants and then he shut down that report.
Now, before the Knicks blowout loss to the Dallas Mavericks at home, there was a report of the Knicks actively shopping every player on the roster, besides All-Star, Carmelo Anthony.
From Howard Beck of The New York Times:
The Knicks will probably keep Carmelo Anthony for now. But rival executives say that everyone else at the Garden is available, possibly even the ball boys. J.R. Smith is the most likely to be exiled, if the Knicks can find a taker.
J.R. Smith being the member of the Knicks mostly likely to leave the Knickerbocker island makes sense. He’s struggled all season and hasn’t acclimated to the new offensive formation of the team and still can’t get it right.
The issue though is the problem with the Knicks contracts. They’re all gross and the main pieces they have to offer up, like Amar’e Stoudemire, Andrea Bargnani and J.R. Smith have 3 of the top 5 expensive contracts on the team. It will sure be interesting in New York in the coming weeks.
