Tempers flared during a recent matchup that had playoff implications all over it between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Portland Trail Blazers. Portland eventually walked away with a hard-earned 108-105 road victory but a skirmish in the 3rd quarter garnered all the attention.
Multiple players were given technical fouls including Thunder rookie Terrance Ferguson and Blazers vet Evan Turner for a shoving match that escalated. Accompanying each technical foul in the NBA is a $2,000 fine, something Turner promised to pay for Ferguson following the game.

Terrance Ferguson was one of the primary players involved in the scuffle as he was initially taken down by Blazers big man Ed Davis while fighting for a rebound. Turner then came into the scene and gave Ferguson a shove, something he clearly regrets doing especially to a rookie. You can watch the play below.

Evan Turner said he made sure to let Ferguson know that there were no hard feelings following the game and that premise is likely mutual with the veteran offering to pay Ferguson’s fine. Both the Blazers and Thunder are among the best teams out West late in the season and could be on a collision course that comes to a head during the postseason.
