The New York Knicks, despite getting the 4th pick and not the 1st, have a lot of options. Point guard, Mudiay and Russell. Forward, Justise Winslow. Bigs, if somehow Okafor or Towns go down to 4th I’m sure New York will snatch them up. So they have options, it’s not the end of the world.
Oh, there is one more option that they could go for. It’s an outside shot but with all the recent success of drafting European players, why not take a stab at Kristaps Porzingis? He would certainly love to play for the Knicks.
NBA draft prospect Kristaps Porzingis said in an interview with SI Now Tuesday that he hopes he is selected by the New York Knicks.
Porzingis visited the SI Now studios as part of his first ever trip to New York and said has enjoyed the city thus far.
“For sure, it’s a big spotlight being here, playing here in New York, a lot of pressure,” Porzingis said. “But I would love to play here one day with the Knicks, and hopefully they pick me.”
Well that certainly sounds promising. And finding somebody that actually wouldn’t mind playing for the Knicks? Surely the pickings must be slim these days.
But hey, Kristaps is coming to America to make a career that the EuroLeague, despite its growth, just cannot do for him. The money, incomparable, the potential fame, you would have to be Lionel Messi to get the fame like NBA players get.
