ESPN have been on a roll recently in terms of people steaming over their rankings.
They given Kobe a reason to come back even quicker than he probably should by ranking him 25th and his team 12th (in the Western Conference!) in their rankings.
Carmelo Anthony isn’t even in the top 10 considering he pipped KD to the scoring title… And you know how Knicks fans get!
But it seems they’ve finally got something right! The Top 5 NBA Players.
1) LeBron James – No surprise there. In line for a potential three peat and a fifth MVP! Yea we saw that coming. LeBron no.1 but for how long…?
2) Kevin Durant – It should be 1 and 1a cause that’s how close KD is to LeBron. It’s not fair to put him at 2 but hey ho. Nearly four time scoring (cheers Carmelo) and he now knows how much he needs his team to succeed and I think they will. Reggie Jackson will do well in Westbrook’s absence but when he comes back it will be interesting to see if they can help Durant get to that all important no.1 spot in more ways than one.
3) Chris Paul – To me this is his year. He has the coach, he has the bench, he has the two tanks up front. It’s now up to him to rally them up and get them to the NBA Finals. They can do it for sure.
4) James Harden – With Howard there, Harden can only get better. His skill grows every year and it’s so easy to see it. His threes are like a film in itself the way they float in the air. His eurostep is immaculate. Near the level of Ginobili’s and D Wade. And the beard. What can i say about the beard… Facial hair at its best.
5) Russell Westbrook – To round it of we have possibly the most explosive player in the league. If hate to play him one on one, his hesitations are like lightning. Jukes left and before you know it he’s nuked right and he’s in for the layup. And now that we know he is needed much more than we thought. That’s a good motivator to get healed up and breaking some more ankles.
Worthy top 5 but there are many players that could easily replace them in a space of a season. 7 days left…
