Ilyasova would rejoin the Sixers after spending less than one year away from the team, appearing in 46 games with Atlanta this season. In those 46 games, he’s averaged 10.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and one steal in 25.5 minutes per contest.
Ilyasova was traded from Oklahoma City to Philadelphia last season, where he played in 53 games. He thrived during his short time with the Sixers, scoring 14.8 points per game while shooting 36 percent from 3-point range as a floor-spacing big. He was traded by the team to Atlanta before the NBA’s trading deadline last February.
Ilyasova is expected to reach a buyout agreement with the Hawks this week and sign with the 76ers, who also signed Marco Belinelli — Ilyasova’s teammate in Atlanta — following his own buyout with the club.
Ilyasova has 10 years of NBA experience, playing for the Bucks, Pistons, Magic, Thunder, Sixers and Hawks since being drafted 36th in 2005. He’ll provide shooting and frontcourt depth off the bench for Philadelphia, a team with Playoff aspirations.
