In the ultimate class act move TNT’s Ernie Johnson received the best studio host Emmy, but his next move is what made the moment special. Johnson gave his Emmy to Sydni and Taelor Scott the daughters of the late ESPN broadcaster Stuart Scott.
Johnson would make it short and sweet stating “This belongs with Stuart.” before receiving a round of applause. It’s hard to believe it has been nearly five months since the passing of the legendary broadcaster.
Johnson proves what an effect Scott had on the sports world by not only entertaining sports fans with his witty play by play on highlights, but what a great man he was.
The energy that Scott brought to every show was one of a kind, and more than likely we will never see again.
He not only had the respect of the sports world but his colleagues as well, and Johnson showed his respect to Scott.
