One high-profile trial concluded yesterday and another one began today. Three years after Ermias “Nipsey Hussle” Ashgedom was shot and killed in Los Angeles, the man accused of pulling the trigger, Eric Holder Jr., is set to stand trial. Prior to entering the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in Los Angeles on Thursday, Holder plead not guilty to all charges levied against him. If convicted, he will face life in prison.
Nipsey Hussle was reportedly killed on March 31, 2019 while standing near his clothing store on Crenshaw Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. Holder is accused of approaching Hussle, confronting him and then firing nearly a dozen times. After the shooting took place, Holder Jr. allegedly fled the scene, triggering a citywide manhunt. Two days after the shooting, Holder was taken into custody.
The trial was initially set to begin in 2020, but a number of outside factors have delayed the trial. Now, Holder Jr. will have his time in court beginning at 9 a.m. PT in Los Angeles.
