In an exclusive scoop from Variety, it’s been revealed that Journey to the Center of the Earth director Eric Brevig has been hired to direct School of Fear.
The film is an action-adventure that will be based on the book series by Gitty Daneshvari and packaged by WME.
“Daniel Mackey adapted the first book in the trilogy, published in 2010. That story follows four children, all suffering from phobias who sent to an exclusive yet secretive school where they’re intent on conquering their fears and surviving a perilous final test” (Variety).
Brevig is best known for the 2008 box office hit Journey to the Center of the Earth. He also received Academy Award nominations for visual effects on Hook and Pearl Harbor.
Wonderland Sound & Vision are set to produce with Daniela Taplin Lundberg, Daniel Crown, Riva Marker, and Scott Fischer.
