Can things get any worse for the Phoenix Suns? They struck out on LaMarcus Aldridge this offseason, and things have gone downhill for them since then. Tyson Chandler looks like a shell of his former self. Markieff Morris looks like the biggest headcase in the NBA. Upset with the coaching staff, the team fired two assistant coaches, and head coach Jeff Hornacek’s job is reportedly far from safe.
One of the few bright spots on this 12-21 Phoenix team has been the play of point guard Eric Bledsoe, who has averaged 20.4 points, 6.1 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals per game this season.
Then, Bledsoe got hurt. He injured his left knee, and initial reports claimed that he would be out until after the All-Star break. However, after surgery, it’s apparently much more serious than that. From the Phoenix Suns’ Twitter page:
OFFICIAL: Suns guard @ebled2 underwent successful surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee and will miss the remainder of season.

Ouch. Their best player is out for the season. That’s never something you want to hear. They came into this season with high expectations, but sometimes everything goes wrong. It looks like this Phoenix team is going to make a run at the lottery, not the playoffs. Maybe next year, Suns.
