Fresh off a trip to the Super Bowl in his first season with the San Francisco 49ers, wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders will be playing his football elsewhere in the 2020 NFL season. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Sanders will join the New Orleans Saints on a two-year, $16 million contract. The deal includes up to $3 million more in incentives.

Sanders will be a worthy addition for an already loaded New Orleans Saints roster that was in desperate need of a second wide receiver. Sanders will get plenty of opportunities to make an impact alongside the 2019 NFL Offensive Player of the Year Michael Thomas.
The veteran wideout was a valuable piece for the Niners as well, serving as a mentor for younger receivers Deebo Samuel and Kendrick Bourne. Sanders spent only one season with the Niners, playing thirteen games for the club including three postseason games. Prior to joining San Francisco, Sanders spent four seasons in Pittsburgh and five with the Broncos. Sanders is a two-time Pro Bowler, making appearances in 2014 and 2016.
