It’s official: I’m hosting the #Oscars! I’d like to thank @TheAcademy, my wife Portia and, oh dear, there goes the orchestra.

Ellen DeGeneres has announced via Twitter that she will be hosting next year’s Oscars.
She has previously hosted the Oscars in 2007 which received universal praise. “I am so excited to be hosting the Oscars for the second time,” said DeGeneres in the Academy’s announcement. “You know what they say — the third time’s the charm.”
She will follow Seth MacFarlane as Oscar host. He received polarizing reviews last year for his crude humor and bluntness.
Next year’s Oscar ceremony takes place on March 2.
