Ella Jane opens up in her latest track, “Party Trick.” Floating over the lush production, Ella Jane takes the listener to a story that feels all too familiar. On a summer night, the singer finds herself engulfed in the newness of a hookup with someone she recently met but means everything in the moment. One thing leads to another, she finds herself telling another person that she’s in love when in reality she just wants to feel close to someone for the night. After all, we all need someone to feel close to and the attention we receive can be addictive.
“Light a cigarette/By the outdoor pool/If I hold my breath/Will you jump in too?” she asks.
“All of a sudden, I melt into you/And I don’t even know you/But I’ll act like I do/‘Cause I always end up doing sh*t like this/Saying ‘I love you’ for a party trick.”
