Former Louisville Cardinals senior guard El Ellis has announced that he has transferred to the Arkansas Razorbacks for next season. Head Coach Eric Musselman continues to highlight his elite ability to add top talent to the college basketball transfer portal. Ellis will use the extra year of eligibility granted to players due to the impact the Coronavirus had on the 2020-21 college basketball season. After a disappointing season overall for the Cardinals, their best player Ellis announced his intentions to play elsewhere next season. The move to Arkansas could be to improve his pro basketball stock.
Arkansas had the No. 1 transfer portal class at 247Sports BEFORE landing El Ellis today.

This past season as a senior for the Louisville Cardinals, El Ellis averaged 17.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and one steal per game. He paired those numbers wih a field goal percentage of 41 percent and a three-point percentage of 31.9 percent. Ellis was linked to the Razorbacks, like most transfers, fairly quickly. This time though there was serious traction and it looked like the team would be his likely destination for next season. With the move now confirmed, Arkansas has officially reloaded for the 2023-24 college basketball season. Head Coach Eric Musselman hopes to one day win a Championship with the program and with the level of talent he has he might one day.
