During an interview with the Today show, Eddie Murphy hinted at a Bill Cosby skit during his highly-anticipated Saturday Night Live return.
Murphy told the audience that a “Bill Cosby thing” may enter the show.
Later, he noted, “It’ll be very funny.”
He added, “I don’t know if he would think it’s funny…I’m down for whatever as long as it’s really, really funny.”
The Saturday Night Live alumnus didn’t go into detail about the possible skit, but the country will be tuned in for his entire return. Originally, he left the show during season four as he went on to become the superstar we know him as today. Unfortunately, he has not returned to the show in the 35 years since then.
Now, Murphy is back and better than ever. The comedic superstar recently starred in the Netflix film, Dolemite Is My Name. He is also preparing for his return to stand-up comedy and the sequel to Coming To America.
He said, “The timing couldn’t be better.”
He continued, “You’d almost think we planned it.”
Murphy will host Saturday Night Live on NBC at 10 p.m. on December 21st. Lizzo will back him up as the musical guest.
